Two large tents stand in the distance; one is left-of-center and the other is right-of-center. They sit at the base of a hillside up from the sand. A boat (partial view) enters frame at left and rests on the sand. Also on the beach at left, there is a small cart. Wooden posts stand in front of the rightmost tent and partially obscure it. Fishing crates are stacked at right. A hill and cliffside stand in the background. Text from negative sleeve: 629. Laguna Beach - Arch Beach, about 1921. Our camp at Arch Beach, with my Cadillac in the rear. Elizabeth and Frances West slept in the tent, Wilf Cline and I outside. One night a skunk got into the tent and the girls made a great outcry until I got a flash light and saw the skunk in the tent. They practically stopped breathing. The skunk sneaked out when I went around to the other side of the tent and made a noise against the tent. There were other campers on the side of the hill above Arch Beach. A picture of the place. 2 negatives
