Description
Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. Either double exposed or overlapping photographs of Dr. Clarence B. Dickson standing and posing on the grounds of the Independent Order of Foresters Sanatorium grounds and a couple of nurses entering a building. The image of Dr. Dickson covers the left two-thirds of the photograph. He stands left-of-center and holds a cane. A flagpole and buildings stand in the background to the right of him. In the other photograph, two nurses walk in line behind each other through a doorway with their backs to the camera. The open door frames Dr. Dickson in the other photograph. There is a large window to the right of the door. Text from negative sleeve: 647. Lopez Canyon, I. O. F. Sanitarium. Xxxxx September 26, 1937. The Foresters hold a picnic and we go. "Red" - the boy who used to wait on me and bring my meals when I was there in the spring of 1936. Frank Hand at the right. Don't know the others. Two pictures on one film, but Dr. Dickson can plainly be seen. Doc operated on my neck under the left ear for a fibroid tumor. I was in the Sanitarium in 1936 for 3 months. Got a good rest. 3 negatives
