Photograph, from left to right, of Mertie West and Nina Meyers posing in front of signs for Matilija Hot Springs. They stand at center and Nina holds a hat in her raised hand. A sign to the left of the women is supported by a cairn at far left. The sign reads, "MATILIJA HOT SPRINGS." Signs posted above the women read, from top to bottom: "WARNING STEEP GRADE LOW GEAR FOR SAFETY AUTO CLUB SO CAL", "FOLLOW THE ARROW [left facing arrow] MATILIJA HOT SPRINGS A FISHERMANS DELIGHT," and "1 MILE TO [...] S [...] OODSY [...]." A stream appears to flow behind the signs at left. A small outcrop of low boulders rests on the ground immediately behind the women. At right, a building stands in the distance.
