Photograph of H. H. West, Jr. standing on a small rock and fishing in Matilija Creek. He stands left-of-center atop a small rock in the creek and is turned towards the creek at right with his back to the camera. He holds a fishing rod out in front of him with the line extending into the creek. The creek flows from the upper left corner down towards the right corner. Boulders lie in the stream behind H. H., Jr. Trees and shrubbery line the stream's banks.
