Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. Photograph of the Halfway House at Orchard Camp viewed from across the trail. Visitors and donkeys gather in front of the building. The trail cuts across the foreground at a downward angle from left to right. The Halfway House stands in the near distance and is viewed from the front at an angle. Above the line of windows and under the roof, it reads, "ORCHARD CAMP." Three of the windows on the front are open and two men can be seen sitting in the window at right. A small sign is tacked to the front of the building to the left of the windows. In front of the building, about 4 or 5 donkeys are hitched to posts at center-right. A couple people sit atop the donkeys at center. At left, a group of about 4 people stand in front of the left corner of the Halfway House. Another small structure hides in the shadows in the background at left. Text from negative sleeve: 683. Mount Wilson, winter 1909. On the trail. Mrs H.H.West behind the burro.
