Photograph of Ray Schmitz standing in the middle of a dirt road in Boonville. He stands in the near distance, left-of-center, with a hand in his pocket as he looks towards the camera. He stands in the middle of a wide, dirt road that extends from the bottom edge of the image and narrows as it reaches the horizon on the right. A building (partial view) sits on the left side of the road as it enters the frame. A sign out in front of it reads, "ANDERSON VALLEY HOTEL." Further down the road and behind Ray, a house stands.
