Description
Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. Photograph of Ray Schmitz standing in the middle of a dirt road in Boonville. He stands in the near distance, left-of-center, with a hand in his pocket as he looks towards the camera. He stands in the middle of a wide, dirt road that extends from the bottom edge of the image and narrows as it reaches the horizon on the right. A building (partial view) sits on the left side of the road as it enters the frame. A sign out in front of it reads, "ANDERSON VALLEY HOTEL." Further down the road and behind Ray, a house stands. Text from negative sleeve: 689. Mendocino County trip, 1915. We staid[sic] all night at Cloverdale and the next day passed thru Boonville. Ray Schmitz at Boonville, Calif.
