Description
Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. An out-of-focus photograph of H. H. West standing next to the fish he and Glen Velzy caught in Newport Beach. H. H. West stands left-of-center and gazes off towards the right. He props an arm up on a wooden post to the right and holds onto his fishing rod. From the post he leans upon, a wooden plank extends out towards the right. A dozen or so fish dangle from the plank. Behind H. H., waves crash on the shore at left and a pier extends across the horizon. Text from negative sleeve: 706. Newport Beach, Calif. April 1914. See negative #631 - Laguna Beach. Glen Velzy and I had been fishing at Laguna, and on the way home stopped at Newport Beach and took some photos of our catch. 7 pictures of myself with our fish. 4 pictures of Glen Velzy with our fish. 2 pictures of myself on the Newport Pier with a big sea bass some fellow had caught. 2 pictures of the fellow who caught the big sea bass. Now unknown. 15 negatives.
