Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. Photograph looking at the Los Angeles Aqueduct and surrounding mountains near Independence. The aqueduct stretches from the bottom edge of the image and tapers towards the horizon. As it approaches the mountains in the distance, it curves to the left and disappears from view. Piles of rocks line both sides of the aqueduct. Text on negative sleeve: 726. Independence, Calif. About 1915. A view of the Los Angeles aqueduct being completed near Independence.
