West stands at right on the rocky bank of the creek. He is turned slightly left while holding a string of fish at left and a fishing rod at right. A couple dozen fish hang from the string that H. H. holds. The string extends to the left towards a large twisting tree branch at left. The branch extends from the left and out over H. H.'s head. The creek flows behind him. A cliffside rises from the opposite bank in the background. Text from negative sleeve: 734. Piru Creek, Calif. Near Billy Smitt's cabin. We drove my Buick right down by the Piru. Party was H.H.West, Cleo Swain and Winnie Scott of the Western Rubber and Supply Co., and Mills Helen a friend of Swains. About 1917. 1. H.H.West with string of trout from Piru. 2.
