George M. West was H. H. West's father. By 1900 H. H. West, his father, and other members of the West family lived in Los Angeles.
West family's former home. The house is surrounded by a fence and there are trees at the front and sides. The house has two levels and a porch. There is a man with his back facing the camera in the front yard. In the foreground, there is grass and a wooden sidewalk. There is another house visible in the background.
Text from negative sleeve: 770. East. Red Oak, Iowa. 1900. The home of George M. West and family looking north. Was on Prospect street at extreme north end of town, at end of Fifth Street. This house has now been torn down and a street runs thru the property to residences further north.
