Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. View of the West family's former home. Trees obscure most of the house. There is a man with his back to the camera at the right of the photograph. Laundry hangs on a line next to the man. By 1900 H. H. West and other members of his family lived in Los Angeles. Text from negative sleeve: 778. East. Red Oak, Iowa. 1900. Our old home from inside our yard, looking north west. The tree on the left was an apple. Had flat yellow apples in the fall that sure smelled good. Next right was a big snow ball bush, then three ever green [sic] trees.
