Description
Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds.
Carl Austin stands in front of his home with his mother and daughters. The girls appear to be sitting on swings. His mother sits on the porch. Austin has a hand up touching the tree. What appears to be a dog walks on the wooden sidewalk in front of the house. There is another tree in the left side of the yard and trees in surrounding yards, as well. Other houses are visible at the left and a fence is visible at the right.
Minerva Austin's husband's name was Byron J. Austin, that is B. J. Austin, not J. B. Austin as the negative sleeve states.
Text from negative sleeve: 799. East. Red Oak, Iowa. 1900. The front of the Austin home which adjoined us on the east. Mrs J. B. [sic] on the porch, and Carl Austin with his two little children out under their big crab apple tree.
