Former home of the West family. There is a porch at the front and trees in front and at the side. There are two objects at the side of the house, both propped up on wooden stands.
Text from negative sleeve: 808. East. Red Oak, Iowa. 1917. The old West home, looking west. The bay window had been taken off the front and a porch across the front added. The old Mead-Longstreet home may be seen in the back ground. A low porch ran across the side of it.
