The group sits in the foreground in the near distance. At far left, Everett Shaw lounges in the sand on his side with his feet out to the left. He looks directly to the camera. To his immediate right, a man sits slightly in front of Everett with his back to the camera. Sitting further back and to the right, 4 women sit in a curved row. All wear hats and their faces are obscured. Two of the women sit on the sand near the center of the image and the other two sit in chairs, facing to the left. A man stands at far right. He stands in profile, facing left, and rests his hand to his hip. The group's campsite stands behind them to the right. A tent is pitched at center and another larger tent occupies most of the campsite on the right. Behind the campsite, a road, elevated from the beach, passes across the image. A mountain rises on the far side of the road.
