Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. Photograph of the wilderness surrounding the West, Whitaker and Shaw campsite near Rock Creek and Toms Place. Their camp is set up in the distance, left-of-center, under a large, leaning pine tree. The group's canopy can be seen standing under a pine tree to the left of it. The pine tree rises from the ground at left and angles upward towards the right. A car is parked nearer to camera on the right. It is viewed from the side and the rear; it faces towards the campsite at left. Low brush sprawls across the ground in the foreground. A few tall pine trees stand among shorter trees in the background. Text from negative sleeve: 856. Rock Creek trip, 1941. Three views of our camp about 1/4 mile up Rock Creek from Tom's Place.
