Photograph of entrance gates to the Presidio of San Francisco. The gate stands in the near distance at center, flanked by 2 gateposts. The gates are open and a dirt road passes through the center. Two guards take up post at the left gatepost. The leftmost guard leans his back against the front left side of the gatepost while holding onto the barrel of a gun. The second guard sits with his back to the right side of the gatepost. He faces towards the open gates. Wrought iron fencing extends from the gateposts and out-of-frame on either side of the image. Past the open gate, the tree-lined, dirt road continues into the distance.
