Ships in the wharf. At the left, there is a building with the words, "[new] California house" and "Osmer & Co." posted on it. There are people walking throughout, as well as two men who may be digging or sweeping in the middle of the road. There are two horse-drawn carriages at the right, as well as other near the streetlamp at the left. There are utility poles and wires. One small building at the right has the word "cigar" on it, and one of the carriages at the right has the word "McNamara" on it. The ships are in the background. There is a beam in the background with the words "new Wellington" printed on it.
