In 49 sculpture, which is part of the Pioneer Monument in Civic Center Plaza.
Text from negative sleeve: 944. San Francisco, 1900. The 49'rs monument. A fence surround the sculpture. The words "In '49'" are on the base of the sculpture. The sculpture consists of three men, two kneeling and one standing, along with prospecting gear. Another portion of the monument is at the left. The words "[James] Lick and Marshall" are on the base of the monument." There are buildings at the right, including one with a sign that reads, in part, "steam beer...[California]."
