San Carlos Borromeo Basilica. People walk around the building, which has an angled roof and is topped with multiple crosses. There is a fence surrounding the building. A horse and cart are parked in front of the basilica. H. H. West's sister, Nella, took this photograph.
Text from negative sleeve: 967. Monterey, Calif. 1901. These photos were taken by Nella West and I think are all of the mission at Monterey, but may be also at San Jose as she was also down there. 6 negatives.
