Description
Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. Guy West was H. H. West's brother. Franz Nelson stands in front of a block destroyed by the San Francisco Earthquake and Fire. The ruins are mostly made up of rubble. The structure in the background is a chimney with fireplace mantels attached to it, presumably from an apartment building that collapsed around it. There are fences behind, and smoke billows throughout the sky. Nelson wears a flat hat and holds a cigar. He has his other hand on his hip. Text from negative sleeve: 980.
