Description

An underexposed photograph of three persons, including Wilfrid Cline, Jr. (center), working together to fix the flat tire on Ade Bystle's Ford. The trio is clumped together, right-of-center, next to the driver's side rear tire of the Ford. At right, a man wearing suspenders kneels to the ground next to the wheel with his back to the camera. Wilfrid Cline kneels on the ground in profile at center. He looks towards the right and rests his arm on a pump. Another man crouches down to the ground in front of Wilfrid Cline. He faces right and holds what appears to be a jack. The car is parked in a grassy clearing. It is viewed from the side at an angle and faces towards the left. The back end of the car extends out-of-frame at right. Ahead of the car, a split-rail fence runs horizontally from left to right, presumably passing in front of the car. Trees stand behind both the fence at left and the car at right. Text from negative sleeve: 1019. Trinity County trip 1917. Foster's Meadows. We went down there to hunt for deer. No deer. 1.
