The store stands in the near distance, left-of-center and is viewed at an angle from the front. From left to right, Harry Schmitz and the store's proprietor, Mr. Whitmore are on the store's front platform. Harry sits in front of the left window and looks off to the right. Mr. Whitmore stands outside the open door of the store. A sign hangs out over the door, it reads, "CASH STORE *AE HUFFORD*." In front of the store at center, a car is parked in a dirt road. The car is viewed at an angle from the front and the side; it faces left. Wilfrid Cline sits up on the side of the car between the front and back seats. His legs dangle off the side of the car. The car's license plate reads, "CAL 288 467." In the distance at right, a cart sits in front of a fence. Beyond the fence, another building stands. A tree stands behind the store at left and trees stand in the background at right. Text from negative sleeve: 1022. Trinity County trip 1917. While camped at Cow Creek we drove up one day to Whitmore, a store on the road to Burney. On the platform of the lone store, L to R: Harry Schmitz, Whitmore, the owner of the store.
