Donald and Russell Smith stand nearest to the camera, left-of-center. They stand side-by-side and look towards the camera. At center, Harry Schmitz stands further in the distance behind them. He looks towards the camera and stands in front of a parked car. The car is viewed from the side and faces to the right. Clotheslines stretch from both ends of the car. A clothesline runs from the front end of the car to a tent pitched on the right. The other line stretches from the rear of the car to a tree standing along the left edge of the image. Clothes hang draped over both lines. A dilapidated cabin stands in the distance at left. Cleared ground extends from the camera to the campsite. Trees stand in the background. Text from negative sleeve: 1026. Trinity County trip, 1917. Burney Falls, Calif. Dave F. Smith, with wife and his 2 boys and Norman Bailie, a Los Angeles attorney, with his wife and 2 children come into Burney Falls. 3 large films of Harry Schmitz and Dave F. Smith's two sons, Russel Smith and Donald Smith. We also have our first wash day since leaving Los Angeles,-about 2 weeks, and fill a line with wash. 3 films
