F From McCloud River we returned to Cayton to go deer hunting with John Bidwell to Kosk Creek. A neighbor of John's comes over to the house to tell him that he was over on Kosk Creek with some salt for his cattle and found a cub bear in his bear trap, and for us to go over to the trap and see if we could not get the female, as he left the dead cub at the trap. 1.
