They are clumped towards the center of the image. John Bidwell, Harry Schmitz and Wilfrid Cline, Jr. sit horseback, left-of-center, and face towards the right. Wilfrid Cline, Jr. is partially obscured by Harry Schmitz and his horse. John Bidwell's neighbor rides at right. He sits in profile atop his horse and faces left. An unidentified man stands on the ground to the left of John Bidwell. He stands in front of 2 horses. The barnyard stretches across the image in front and behind them. Trees stand in the distance.
