Description
Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. Photograph of a sage hen lying on the ground after being hunted by H. H. West in Coon Camp. The sage hen lies camouflaged on the ground at left. It sits among rock-covered ground. Some patches of tall grass rise from the surrounding ground that extends towards the horizon. Grassland stands in the distance, giving way to hillsides in the far distance. Text from negative sleeve: 1051. Trinity County trip, 1917. Coon Camp. 1. Wilfrid Cline Jr with two limits of sage hen. They were thick. We could drive the car right into flocks. The large film. 2. Small film. Harry Schmitz with two limits of sage hen. 3. Small film. Left to right.
