Description

West's Buick along the Truckee River on their way to Lake Tahoe. The car sits at right in the middle of a dirt road that runs parallel to the Truckee River. The car is viewed from the side and front and faces towards the lower right corner. Its license plate reads, "CAL 288 467." Wilfrid Cline, Jr. sits in the backseat of the car and hangs an arm over the side of the car. Harry Schmitz sits in the front passenger seat and looks to the camera. The dirt road stretches behind them to the left and curves back towards the right as is stretches into the distance. The Truckee River is to the right of the road and flows parallel to the road. Pine trees stand along the banks of the river. A rocky landscape lines the the road to the immediate left of H. H. West's Buick. Text from negative sleeve: 1054. Trinity County trip, 1917.
