Description
Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. Photograph looking into H. H. West and company's campsite in the Aspens near Silver Lake. A grassy pathway runs through the center of the image towards the campsite. A car is parked on each side of the pathway in the foreground. The wheel of one car is visible on the right and the rear end of another car enters the frame at left. The campsite sits among the trees in the near distance. A tent stands behind a tree at center and a tarp hovers above and in front of it. A clothesline and a tire are in the camp at right. Another tent stands at left and is obscured by the shrubbery. Beyond the trees, a mountain rises in the far distance. Text from negative sleeve: 1072. Silver Lake trip 1914. 1. Silver Lake uspoiled [sic] as it was then. 2.
