Description
Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. Photograph, from left to right, of Elizabeth West and Chester Schmitz standing with fish by a stream near Silver Lake. They stand at center atop a wood plank that spans a small stream. Elizabeth West is at left and in profile. She is turned to the right towards Chester. One hand rests behind Chester's shoulders and the other moves in front of him. Chester Schmitz looks to the camera and holds up a stick in front of him with both hands. A few fish dangle from the stick. The stream they stand over is at its widest in the lower right corner and narrows as it approaches the background. Rocks sit in the stream in the lower right corner. A wooden plank, stretching left to right, then spans the stream. From there, the stream narrows into the distance as it flows behind Elizabeth. Tall grasses stand on the bank at right. Trees line the near distance and mountains are visible rising in the far distance. Text from negative sleeve: 1074. Silver Lake trip. 1914. Silver Lake camp. 1. L to R: Chester Schmitz.
