Description

Photograph of: Mary West, Kate Schmitz, Albert Schmitz, Chester Schmitz, Irene Schmitz, Elizabeth West and Frances West visiting the pool at the base of a waterfall somewhere above Silver Lake. The pool sits in the lower right corner. It cascades over a small weir and flows in the distance from right towards center where it disappears into the trees. A wood-plank barrier lines the pool. Members of the Schmitz and West families stand on the rocks to the left of the barrier. Chester Schmitz sits at the bottom edge of the image at center. His head is tilted downward and he faces right. Albert Schmitz stands behind him, facing right. He holds onto Irene Schmitz, who is to the right of him, as she approaches the barrier. Elizabeth West stands behind them and looks to the camera; she is partially obscured by Albert and Irene. Frances West sits behind Irene and to the right of Elizabeth. Only her hat is visible. Standing further to the left of the barrier and among the rocks are, from front to back, Mary A. West and Kate A. Schmitz. Both face the left, but Mary West turns her head towards Kate.
