Description
Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. Photograph of the J. A. Raycraft Silver State Stable and Garage standing on the northeast corner of the intersection of North Carson Street and East Musser Street in Carson City. It is viewed from the south-facing side on E. Musser St. and stands off-center to the right. It is constructed of stone across the ground floor and has a wooden gable on the second floor. An archway is cut into the front of the building. A sign over the arched entryway reads, "J.A. RAYCRAFT SILVER STATE STABLE." At left, "GARAGE." is painted both on the stone face of the building and on a sign that juts out towards N. Carson St. A brick chimney rises from the back of the building. East Musser Street passes in front of the building in the foreground. A sidewalk extends towards the horizon along the left side of the building down North Carson Street. Buildings line the opposite side of North Carson Street in the distance. Text from negative sleeve: 1098. Smith West tour 1913. Carson City. Early in the morning. 1.
