Description
Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. A poorly exposed photograph of Dave F. Smith standing in camp at Silver Lake. He stands left-of-center, facing the camera. He places his hands in his pockets. His head is in shadow and is not clearly visible. Two women sit in front and to the right of him. They are near the lower right corner. One bends over and the other turns her head to look at her. The camp stove sits in the background, right-of-center. The camp clearing stretches across the image on an upward angle from left to right. Beyond the clearing, the rest of the image is swathed in shadow and underexposed. Text from negative sleeve: 1105. Smith West tour August 1913. Silver Lake. 6 pictures of our camp in the Aspens at Silver Lake. Either too dark when taken, or poor film, or poor development. Cannot make out who are in the pictures, but it is our party. 6 films
