Description
Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. Photograph, from left to right, of Nella West, H. H. West and Dave F. Smith lounging about their campsite on the bank of Silver Lake. Nella West sits at far left at the base of a tree; she faces left. A couple of crates sit on the ground in front of and to the right of her. A little further back, H. H. West stands at center. He looks to the camera as he rests one arm to his hip and extends his other arm out towards a tree. The camp stove billows smoke behind him. Dave F. Smith sits closer to camera at right, facing left, while turning his head to look to the camera. He sits behind a table and under a canopy. Someone else sits next to and behind him; she peeks around him and looks to the camera. A tree stands in the foreground along the right edge of the frame. Fishing poles rest upright against the tree. A sliver of Silver Lake is visible in the distance at right and a mountainside rises in the far distance beyond the camp's trees. Text from negative sleeve: 1106. Smith West tour August 1913.
