West's Buick. George Watterson's Buick (left) and H. H. West's Buick (right) are parked on a dirt road in the near distance. The cars face towards each other; Watterson's Buick faces right and H. H.'s Buick faces left. The road they sit on runs at an upward angle from right to left. Low brush covers the ground in the foreground. H. H. West stands in the distance, left-of-center, and holds a large bag of water. He fills another bag of water being held be George Watterson who stands to his left. At far right, Mary A. West and Nella West sit in H. H.'s Buick; Mary is in the front seat and Nella is in the backseat. Their backs are to the camera. Mountains rise in the distance. Text from negative sleeve: 1123. Smith West tour August 1913. Sherwin grade. She was sure tough in those days. 1. The Owens River gorge beside the road. A regular grand canyon. 2.
