Mary West (Mary Adelbert Teel West Shepard) was H. H. West's first wife and the mother of his children.
Bessie Velzy has a picnic with Mary West and West's daughters, Elizabeth and Frances. Elizabeth's back is to the camera. Mrs. West is to her left, next to her is Frances, followed by Mrs. Velzy. There are jars of food scattered over the blanket. Next to Mrs. Velzy, there are two canisters. There are other people in the background. There are trees throughout. At the left, there is a bench with a basket on it. There are mountains in the background.
Text from negative sleeve: 1145. Velzy West tour 1909. Elsinore, Calif. 1, 2 and 3. Three pictures of Bess Velzy, Mary A West, Elizabeth West and Frances West eating lunch in the park at Elsinore. Think this was July 4, 1909. 3 films.
