Description
Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. Photograph of an unknown girl (center) holding onto a pet monkey while Irene Schmitz (right) looks on. The girl stands at center and looks down to the monkey she holds. The small monkey wraps itself around her forearm which she holds across her body. The monkey is tethered to a tree behind and to the right of the girl. A narrow chain stretches from the monkey to the tree. To the right of the tree, Irene Schmitz stands and looks to the camera. To the left of the girl, 2 other slim trees stand. Beyond the clearing directly behind them, picnic tables sit under (oak?) trees. In the background, people can be seen sitting at the tables at left.
