Photograph of a fisherman standing over a small shark and spearing it while standing on a bridge somewhere between La Jolla and Ocean Beach as people watch. The shark lies on the bridge at center. It is viewed from the side and faces right. Its tail appears to thrash. A fisherman stands over the shark's head, behind and to the right of it. He clutches a spear that extends out of the fish and faces towards the camera as he appears to converse with the surrounding crowd. Another fisherman stands at far left, in partial view, on a wood plank sidewalk with his back to the camera. He stands on a coil of rope attached to a second spear that extends from the fish. Two men and a girl stand to the right of him. The men look down at the fish and the barefooted girl looks to the left towards the fisherman. A man in partial view and with his back to the camera stands along the right edge of the image; he rests a hand to his hip. Another person stands barefooted beyond him and to the right of the fisherman spearing the shark. The bridge spans the width of the foreground and extends back and to the right behind the scene.
