According to the negative sleeve, this photograph was taken about 1930. The breakwater was not open until 1931, it is likely that this photograph was taken later than 1930.
Photograph overlooking the Children's Pool in La Jolla and its breakwater. The pool extends across the foreground. The stepped breakwater enters the frame about halfway up the image at left. It extends about two-thirds of the way across the image on a slight arc towards the right. A rock rises from the water between the camera and the breakwater. A rope extends from the end of the breakwater and out of frame at right. A few people swim in the water in the foreground. More people sit along the steps of the breakwater. The ocean extends into the distance behind the breakwater.
