Description
Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. A poorly lit photograph of multiple cars parked in front of the Ridge Road Garage in Mendocino County. A dirt road passes across the image on an upward angle from left to right. A car is parked in the road, right-of-center. It is viewed at an angle from the rear and side; it faces right. Camping gear is attached to the rear of the car and a pennant affixed to a bundle reads, "LOS ANGELES." Behind this car and to the left stands "RIDGE ROAD GARAGE". The building enters the frame at left and extends just to the car nearest to camera. The sign for the business sits atop the roof. Additional signage on the building reads, "LUNCHES SANDW[ICH]ES CANNED GOODS," and "Miller Tires GEARED." Another car is parked in front of the building at left. It too is viewed at an angle from the side and faces right. A pennant on the side of this car reads, "HANFORD." A third car is parked in the distance to the right and ahead of the car at center; it faces right and its front end extends out of frame. Text from negative sleeve: 1181. Mendocino County Trip, 1915. On the new Ridge Route. Our cars at the Ridge Road Garage. 1 film
