Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. A poorly lit photograph of Glen Velzy's cabin in Santa Anita Canyon as viewed from the rear. The cabin stands in the near distance and is partially obscured by shadow. A rock-lined pathway stretches from the lower bottom edge at left towards a patio area in front of the left side of the cabin. Left-of-center, 3 trees rise and arc in front of the cabin. Another tree stands in front of the cabin at right and obscures it in shadow. Trees occupy the background. Text from negative sleeve: 1224. Santa Anita Canyon, July 4, 5 & 6, 1941. Glen Velzy's cabin "La Casitas." Glen bought a cabin in the canyon after Gene Velzy's cabin was washed out in the big flood. Glen asked Mertie and I to go up over the Fourth, and he took alon [sic] Nina Hiser-Meyers. We drove to the Charlton flats in Glen's Buick. Then hired a burro to pack the provisions and hiked to the cabin, about 3 miles down to the creek, and up the creek. 1. Our pack train on arrival at the cabin.
