Glen Velzy stands at left, facing slightly right, and looks to camera; he wears a backpack. Standing in front of him and to the right is H. H. West. He too wears a backpack and faces slightly right; he carries 2 paper bags. Printed on one of the bags is, "ALEXANDERS." Behind them at left stands Glen Velzy's cabin, "LA-CASITA." The front of the cabin is in partial view. It enters the frame at left and narrows as it stretches across the image towards the center. A tree stands directly behind Glen and in front of the cabin.
