The negative sleeve indicates there are three negatives in this series, but there are, in fact, only two.
Guy West was H. H. West's brother.
Guy West, stands with his bicycle. He wears shorts, a sweater, and a neckerchief. One hand is on his hip and the other is on his bike. Two fences are behind him, one higher than the other.
Text from negative sleeve: 1235. Santa Monica, Calif. July 4, 1901. The start of the Santa Monica road race. 1. Guy West on his bike right in the center of the picture. 2. Guy West in his racing suit and cap. 3. Guy Mark West, after the race. He came in second, after a bad spill. This last picture was taken in the S. P. Athletic park at Santa Monica. 3 films.
