Photograph of Al Schmitz sitting in a dirt road and fishing the Taboose Creek culvert to the side of it. The dirt road stretches on a diagonal through the foreground from the lower left corner and up towards the right. Al Schmitz sits in the road in the near distance at right. He faces left and holds out a fishing rod towards the left and over the side of the road into the creek. Taboose Creek sits down from the road at left and is surrounded by tall grasses. Silhouetted mountains rise in the far distance at left.
Text from negative sleeve: 1255. Taboose Creek, about 1917. We camped right beside the creek on the road, in a sort of grove of black acacia trees. The Party was Glen Velzy, Al Schmitz, Wilfrid Cline Jr & H.H.West. 1. 2. Our camp. Two views. Wilfrid Cline Jr with the rifle. A.B.Schmitz. 3. Al Schmtiz sits down over the little culvert carrying Taboose creek under the road, and fishes down between the brushy banks and gets trout. 3 films
