Description
Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. Photograph, from left to right, of Al Schmitz, Elmer Cole and Charles Stavnow standing next to H. H. West's Cadillac in their campsite near Taboose Creek. The camp is set in a clearing with a few barren trees. The camp tent stands nearest to camera along the right edge of the image. Beyond the tent and at center, the camping stove and pots sit on the ground. H. H. West's Cadillac is parked behind and to the left of the stove. It is viewed at an angle from the side and rear; the Cadillac faces towards the right. Al Schmitz stands in front of the back corner of the car and faces right. Elmer Cole stands in front of the side of the car near the back end; he faces towards the left. Charles Stavnow stands in front of the front end of the car and faces towards the left. A few barren trees line the back edge of their camp. Tall grasses and ground brush extend from the back of their camp towards snow-covered mountains that stretch across the background in the far distance. Text from negative sleeve: 1257.
