Description
Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. Photograph, from left to right, of Al Schmitz, Charlie Stavnow and Elmer Cole standing around their campsite near Taboose Creek. Their camp is set in a clearing. H. H. West's Cadillac is parked at left. It is viewed at an angle from the rear and the side; it faces towards the right and back of the image. Al Schmitz stands near the rear corner of the car along the left frame. He faces towards the right, but looks to the camera. Charles Stavnow stands in front of the side of the car further back and to the right of Al. He faces slightly right and looks in the same direction. Elmer Cole stands rightmost at center. He looks and faces towards the right. The camping stove sits on the ground at far right, near the lower right corner. Barren trees line the back edge of their camp. Tall grasses and ground brush extend from behind the trees and towards the mountains. Snow-covered mountains rise in the far distance. Text from negative sleeve: 1258.
