Description
Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. Photograph of Keeper Hardy (left) stringing ducks killed on a shoot while Frank Mellus (right) kneels beside him. Both men are in the foreground on an embankment. Keeper Hardy is in partial view along the left frame. He faces towards the right as he strings together a few ducks that lie on the ground to the right of him. Slightly behind and to the right of him, Frank Mellus kneels with his back towards the camera. The embankment recedes as it extends into the distance at an angle to the right. Ponds sit to either side of it. The opposite bank is visible in the distance. Text from negative sleeve: 1272. Sunset Gun Club, November 25, 1916. 1.
