Beecher Laswell stands at center and faces slightly left as he looks to the camera. With one hand, he holds onto a string of several ducks that hangs from his shoulder and with the other he holds the butt of his rifle, which rests on his shoulder. A large bag hangs from the butt of the gun. He stands in a marshy pond that stretches across the background. In the distance at left, a shack rises from the marsh and stands in partial view. Text from negative sleeve: 1284. Sunset Gun Club, December 1920. 1. Beecher Laswell. Promoted the Imperial Cotton Mills. Its troubles led to his premature death.
