H. H. West's daughter, Elizabeth, stands in the surf. She wears a dark bathing suit that laces up her chest and she has a bandage around her knee. There are cottages in the background and people sitting and walking on the beach. At the right, there is a pile of seaweed. There are utility poles and wires in the background.
Text from negative sleeve: 1321. Venice, Calif. about 1910. Island Ave and Speedway cottage. 1. Elizabeth West by the seat I had made at the edge of the Speedway at Island Avenue. 2. Fannie Mead Biddick and her daughter Ruth Biddick out on the seat in the wind. 3. Elizabeth West in bathing suit. 4. Frances West, with pig tails, watching the breakers. 4 films.
