West stands, with his rifle at the ready, behind tules that are in the foreground along the left frame. He stands left-of-center, partially obscured by the tules, and faces towards the right; he points his rifle in the same direction. In front and to the right of him, his dog stands facing towards the small lake. The lake is visible behind and to the right of Guy, between the tules. Tules stands along the right edge of the image and behind Guy at left. They also line the opposite bank of the lake in the distance. Text from negative sleeve: 1334.
