Text from negative sleeve: 1336. Willow Springs, Calif. About 1917. Al Schmitz, Wilfrid Cline Jr, Glen Velzy and H.H.West leave in latter's Buick for Cottonwood Creek about May 29, 1917, to fish for golden trout, which season opened on June 1, 1917. Just before reaching Willow Springs from Elizabeth Lake my Buick broke a collar of the Universal joint, and almost immediately afterward broke a pinion gear in rear end. A Cadillac car came along and towed us to the garage at Willow Springs. 1. L to R: Wilfrid Cline Jr. Al Schmitz. Glen Velzy. 1 film
